A boy and his dog

Virg has been sick this past week. He even had a temperature up to 104 on Tuesday night. In addition to the temperature he's also teething and has a runny nose. All in all, this has probably been the hardest week of his life. But he's on medication now and is starting to come out of it. The hardest for the Mommy and Daddy was not seeing Virg smile or laugh. But on Wednesday night, Dalton was able to get Virg to relax and smile and giggle for a little while.

Here we see Dalton trying to give Daddy a few pointers.

Happy Mothers Day!

This goes out to all the mothers out there, and I think you know who you are. But mostly, this goes out to the mother of SpiderVirg (SpiderMom), Chico Froggy (Momma Sita), Virg the Knife (Momma Calzone), Virg-a-saurus (Mrs. Ichthyosaur), Cutius-maximus (Octavianus Mommyus Augustus the IV) and of course little old Virg (Super Mommy).

My Mommy has that 'je ne sais quoi'.
Ah, Je t'aime!

The Amazing SpiderVirg

Look! On the wall! It's a baby! It's a spider!
It's SpiderVirg!!!

SpiderVirg, SpiderVirg
Does whatever a SpiderVirg does
Can he swing from a thread?
No, he can't. Mom says it's dangerous.
Hey there! There goes the SpiderVirg

Is he strong? Listen bud
He's got radioactive blood
Actually, that's not good
We should probably see a doctor about that
LookOut! He's got radioactive blood

In the chill of night
We turn up the heat
And don't flush the toilet
You might wake him up

SpiderVirg, SpiderVirg
Friendly neighborhood SpiderVig
Is he part spider and part baby
No he's not, that's geneticlly impossible
What the duce! I'm singing 'bout SpiderVirg

Primitive living skills

Surviving in the harsh outdoors of the Pacific Northwest can test even the most experienced survivalist. But for Virg it was a walk in the park, or more like a nap in the back yard. Virg is so at one with his surroundings that he wasn't even stirred when a ferocious jungle cat invaded his tent. Her name was Olive.

Why does my tent smell like tuna all of the sudden?

Welcome to your worst nightmare

Joy! Virg went to the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium for the first time. Virg thought the fish in the big tank were super fun to watch. The whale and penguins were good for a laugh as well. But the part of the visit that the Daddy will never forget was the 'See what it would be like if your wife and child were being eaten by a hugenormous shark' exhibit. Once the zookeepers talk you down from your hysterical tantrum and the security guard escorts you back to your car, you'll have a fun image to haunt your dreams for years to come.

It's OK Daddy. The stationary painted plywood won't eat me.

Little boy heaven

While visiting his great grandma, Virg discovered a mythical place many boys hear stories about, but few have ever seen with their own eyes. It's more of a state of being than a physical location, but Virg found it and he was loving every second. The directions are a bit sketchy, but basically you'll need both the grandma and the great grandma within arms reach, a comfortable lap to sit on, and charming look on your face that says - 'Tell me again how much you love me.'

Warning: This only works if you are a small boy or girl. If you are a grown man the result is, how should I put this... less good.

Look! Virg is being spoiled in stereo.

Virg's first Easter

Over the river and through the woods to Great Grandmother's house we go. And even with all of our evasive maneuvering, the Easter Bunny was still able to track down the Virg and leave his little bunny droppings. Yup, Virg got his very first Easter basket. It had a little fuzzy tailed bunny, two little trucks, and Easter eggs filled with Virg's favorite treat... Cheerios!

Silly Rabbit. Plastic colored eggs filled with treats representing the resurrection of our Saviour Jesus Christ are for kids!
